      Ayres & Ayres, Architects, records represents extensive documentation of a prominent San Antonio firm spanning a period of 83 years of practice (). Atlee Bernard Ayres () and his son Robert Moss Ayres () formed a partnership in Papers, photographs, and drawings document the long practice of the San Antonio architects. In his book Architecture in Texas , Jay C. Henry writes "The dramatically articulated massing seen in the Paducah courthouse tends to diminish in subsequent work by Voelcker and Dixon." The buildings became simpler and stylized, undoubtedly due to cost constraints and a desire for more "functional" modern buildings.
